Nursing applications are screened differently from almost every other field: the first thing a recruiter checks is whether your licence and certifications are current and in the right state, and the second is whether your clinical setting matches the unit. Both need to be visible in the top third of the page, not buried under a summary about being compassionate and detail-oriented.
After that, scope is what separates candidates. Patient ratios, bed count, acuity level, trauma designation, EHR system, charge or preceptor responsibility: these are the specifics a nurse manager reads to know whether you can walk onto their floor. "Provided high-quality patient care" is true of every applicant and therefore worth nothing.

Listed plainly and early. Multi-state compact licensure is worth calling out; it removes a hiring obstacle before anyone has to ask.
Unit type, acuity and ratio
Level I trauma at 1:4 is a different job from a 12-bed community ED. Say which one you did.
Certifications spelled out and abbreviated
Write "Basic Life Support (BLS)" once. Matching engines index the abbreviation and the expansion differently, and postings use both.

Copy the shape, not the words. Each one leads with the result, then names the mechanism, and carries the vocabulary of the field without listing it.

Omitting the EHR
Epic and Cerner experience is a genuine screening filter at large systems; it shortens your onboarding by weeks and they know it.

I am a new graduate with only clinicals. What goes in experience?
Your rotations, with the unit type, hours and number of patients you carried. A 180-hour preceptorship on a cardiac step-down unit is real clinical experience; label it as such.
